Looks like a great exodus or just leaving in hurry from some kind of disaster. The female character looks really sad in some way - like she's looking at something dear for her (like her homeworld for example) and she knows it will be the last time she see it. I always loved such sci fi inspired works and this one is full of emotions. 
Male character just stands still like he's trying to tell with his body language "hurry now...we can't stay here any longer..." 
I love the entire picture and dark, even grim coloring is just superb here. Both characters are great and they just fit perfectly in such theme
